Terms of service

Effective 8 September 2026

The short version. Kairis is in early access. You get a license to use our instruction packs inside your own AI application. We never see your email, we never send email on your behalf, and you remain responsible for anything you send. The service is provided as is while we develop it, and either side can end the arrangement at any time.

1. Parties and acceptance

These terms are an agreement between you and Kairis, an early-stage service operated by its founders, private individuals based in the Netherlands ("Kairis", "we"; identity available on request via hello@kairis.tech). You accept them by requesting a license key, entering a license key, or using the service. If you use Kairis on behalf of a company, you confirm you may bind that company. If a legal entity takes over the operation of Kairis, it may assume these terms upon notice to you.

2. The service

Kairis provides instruction packs for email prioritisation and reply drafting, delivered to your AI application over the Model Context Protocol. The service requires a third-party AI application (such as Claude or ChatGPT) and a mailbox connector that you set up and control. Those products are governed by their own terms; we do not control them and are not responsible for their availability, behaviour, or how they handle your data.

Kairis is designed so that your email never reaches our servers and so that your AI application only prepares drafts, never sends them. Whether your AI application honours those instructions depends on that application; you should review what it does.

3. License

Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the instruction packs, through the Kairis service, for your own or your organisation's internal email handling. A license key is for one person. You may not share keys, sublicense, resell, or make the packs available to third parties.

The instruction packs are licensed, not sold. They and all related materials remain our intellectual property. You may not copy, redistribute, or publish them, or use them to build a competing service. Feedback you give us may be used to improve Kairis without obligation to you.

4. Free month and pricing

New users receive a free 30-day demo from the date their key is issued. After the demo, continued use requires a paid license. Current rates are published on our website; team, volume, and annual terms can be agreed separately and are set out in the quote or order you accept. During early access we do not collect payment details and nothing is charged automatically; when payment becomes available we will inform you and you can choose whether to continue. A demo key stops working when it expires unless a paid license is arranged.

We may change prices for future periods with at least 30 days' notice by email.

5. Early access

Kairis is an early-stage product. Features may change, be added, or be removed, and the service may be interrupted or discontinued. We make no commitment to a particular level of availability or support during early access. We will try to give reasonable notice before discontinuing the service.

6. Your responsibilities

7. Data

How we handle personal data is described in our privacy policy. In summary: we never receive your email content; we hold at most an email address, a license record, sign-in data, and minimal request logs.

8. Termination

You may stop using Kairis at any time and ask us to delete your license record. We may suspend or revoke a license if these terms are breached, if we reasonably suspect abuse, or if we discontinue the service. On termination your right to use the packs ends; sections 3, 9, 10, and 11 survive.

9. Warranties and liability

The service is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose, or that outputs will be accurate.

To the extent permitted by Dutch law, our total liability for all claims arising from the service in any 12-month period is limited to the amounts you paid us in that period, or 100 euros if you paid nothing. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, loss of profit, loss of data, or damage arising from actions you or your AI application took based on Kairis output. Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent or gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

10. Consumers

If you use Kairis as a consumer, your statutory rights under EU and Dutch consumer law apply and are not limited by these terms. Where the law grants you a right of withdrawal, you can exercise it by emailing hello@kairis.tech within 14 days of a purchase.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes are submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules that entitle you to another forum.

12. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the current version is always at this address with its effective date. For material changes we will notify license holders by email where we have an address. Continued use after the effective date means acceptance. Questions: hello@kairis.tech.
